Treat yourself to a tea with the stream running past you, listening to the sounds of the water and being surrounded by nature. Yamanakaonsen is a beautiful town, and this little place is a great one to soak it up!

Beautiful and peaceful gorge with amazing bridges and a lovely cafe selling green tea, slices of cake and (to a european) mysterious sweets floating in green tea.

Awesome spot for tea and a cake (the cream in it was delicious). Sit and let the world go by watching the river.

I was surprised that many people walked by without stopping. I was also pleased the prices were average and I received 100 yen discount because I was staying overnight. 500 yen for an average cup of cold barley tea and a slice of what the Japanese call "roll cake" - a kind of Swiss roll, not bad. But I stopped to enjoy looking at the river under the big, red parasol rather than enjoy the food and drink and it did not disappoint.
